What the check covers

The checker sends a standard request to the public store, follows a small number of safe redirects, caps downloaded HTML, and never asks for store credentials.

CHECK 01

Shopify evidence

Known public storefront markers in HTML and response headers.

CHECK 02

oppref redirect test

Whether a harmless test value remains in the final landing URL after redirects.

CHECK 03

OpenAI setup hints

Public SDK URL, initialization call, measurement call, and relevant Content Security Policy entries.

CHECK 04

Crawler rules

Whether robots.txt appears to allow OAI-AdsBot on the exact scanned landing path. WAF and bot challenges are outside this check.

Why “pixel detected” is not enough

Shopify's App Pixel runs in a strict sandbox, so its code is not necessarily visible in the public HTML. Purchase delivery can also happen server-side. A missing public SDK is therefore a warning, not automatic proof of a broken integration.

For full verification, place a test order and confirm three records: the Shopify event or order, your relay's delivery log, and the OpenAI CAPI response. Use the same stable order ID when browser and server events could describe the same conversion.

Do not paste admin URLs, preview links containing tokens, private app URLs, or customer-specific links. Scan only a normal public storefront URL.

Frequently asked questions

Can the tool see code inside Shopify's pixel sandbox?

No. That is an intentional browser security boundary. The result explains when manual test-order verification is still required.

Does a passing result guarantee ad attribution?

No. Attribution depends on OpenAI accepting eligible events and on campaign, consent, timing, identifiers, and event quality. This checker verifies only public prerequisites.

Do you store the store URL?

The current free endpoint processes the URL to produce the response and does not intentionally write it to a database. Cloudflare may retain short-lived request metadata under its platform policies.
